At young age, Queenie started taking dance classes with Belgium’s most prominent bellydancer Samyra. After a long search along many different dance styles, Queenie got bitten by the infamous bellydance bug!
After years of permanent education, she chose to turn her passion into her job. Today she’s a full-time teacher and performer of Middle Eastern dance. Her biggest qualities are her enthusiasm, class and elegance.
Her own courses in Roeselare, Tervuren and Aalst have proven to be a success as well. Not in the least because of her enthusiasm and her modern approach, whilst not forgetting the roots of the art form.
Aside from the classic Egyptian style, Queenie specialises in Khaleegy dance: a folkloric dance from the Arabic Gulf countries. Typical for this style are the heavily embroidered dresses and hair tossing - so much that the dance itself often is called ‘hair dance’.
She still continues to take classes and workshops to keep on striving to bring her dance style to perfection, and to learn new styles and techniques. She took classes and workshops with Maya Sapera (BE), Naksh-I-Dil (BE), Serkan (BE), Niki Constantinidou (BE), Artemisia (BE), Maya (NL), Kahina (FR), Bozenka (US), Ava Fleming (US), Razia (US/UK), Aziza (CAN), Jillina (US), Orit Maftsir (IS), Sabah (VS), Sonia (VS).
She also successfully completed the two year dance teacher training by Danspunt vzw.
